2.60 downgrading

A TA-082 PSP has the writing ONLY where the picture specifies, so if there is no writing in the RIGHT corner then you're safe to downgrade.

ok...i have all my accessories coming tomorrow...so that means i will have a 2 gig card...i wanna use it...
i have a bestbuy baught 2.60 firmware and from what i've read since it says "IC1003" in the upper right corner of the inside the umd drive, i have a "TA-082" mother board....any suggestions? is there anything that came out that i can use to use homebrew and other things?...or sohuld i try and return my psp and get something older...and if i should do that what would i be looking for on the box near the bar code?...

if u have a warrenty u should just keep exchanging it till u dont get one with TA-082 motherboard

i i lknow there's a way to tell what type a psp is by the outside of the box...specifically a letter next to one of the bar codes...anyone know?...and if i don't exchange it...then what's next?

If you don't exchange it, its Captain Going Down With Its PSP Matey, unless a new Downgrader comes out for TA-082 users. Tey have all ready got some progress done (hell they have a working ISO Emulator on it) so just wait.

i'm impatient...spent last night putting movies on my 2 gig card...seems like a waste...i want a ftp program...windows/dos/linux...not to mention a keyboard...is there one out anywhere for the psp?...throw in all the free games i can handle plus emu and i'm happy...if i can downgrade the ftp would be my first goal cuz i don't think that you guys have one out unless you put win95 on use dos...seems llike alotta work and too much memory for just that....so yeah...i'd like to DEV...possibly a custom firmware depending on what's up...cuz i saw that there';s a concept for that around...seems pliable

To dev you will need a 1.50 (for tests and test runs) since the compiler doesnt have anything special for windows/mac os like lua player does. So I reccomend you downgrade as quick as possible, and Il be sure to tell you about something called PSWXP. (a windows XP-remake type application for the Playstation Portable)

ok i can't exchange it for another one cuz they don't have any that doesn't have the new motherboard...so i have the ta-o82 motherboard with 2.60...it's probly not gonna be a big deal if i upgrade to 2.71 firmware...cuz if they figure out a way to downgrade it will probly work for that too right? i ask cuz i need 2.71 to play scareface and if i can't use a faker then i just can't play the game or downgrade

Too bad you can't flash things from you're PC straight to you're PSP.

yeah....i'm a newqbie for psp...been doing pocket pc...gameboy...little gamegear back in the day,....so all i know is from reading...doesn't help much when i have a 2.60...but am gonna have to fige something out...it probly wouldn't matter to upgrade to 2.71 would it?...cuz if they bring out a downgrader it wlll probly incluse that version and then i can play my new game

Well for starters, how about lessening you're urge to double post just to bump a topic so people can read the topic.
Its not like people arn't going to notice it, when someone makes a topic its marked in bright red in the forum its made in to show that someone has posted.

And the psp developement is going no where as of now, my best choice is:

1. If you SERIOUSLY cannot stand not playing you're scarface game, then upgrade and play.

OR

2. Try not to lose hope and wait for a TA-082 Motherboard Downgrader (which infact is in progress btw)

3. Keep looking for PSP's that don't have TA-082 motherboard.


But what I don't understand is how do you know the PSP's you're looking at in the store have a TA-082 motherboard? Do you have like x-ray eyes to make you see through the box or something??
