I'm confused and possibly stupid.

Couldn't play the Peace Walker demo because my firmware wasn't up to date, so I went looking for the latest CFW. After a quick google it became apparent dark alex or whoever isnt doing updates these days. I found files on PSP updates, they weren't called M33, they were classified by 'GENS'. I thought that was fine until I went to install it, then I got the official sony disclaimer, which worried me. Against my better judgement I installed it. Did I just install official firmware over CFW? The homebrew app Ragdoll cannon still works, but my PSOne games have stopped working. I installed 5.50 and 5.50 Gen-B...is this custom firmware or official firmware? If its official, what do I do about going back to CFW? What release is CFW at, and why isnt it getting updated?

5.50 gen-b is CFW, but 5.50 (only) is official.. anyways to play the new games u need 5.50 gen-d.
