US moving to UK - region lock

Hi all - didn't see this topic come up in search, posted a similar one in Wii chat.

I've had my 360 for about 3 years, have about $1,200 in games, 4 controllers, the works. I am moving to the UK in June and recently learned about region locking. I contacted Microsoft about them somehow allowing my console to play UK region games. Their answer has been to copy and paste the data from their site about what region locking is - twice. (apparently i cannot read).

Does anyone have a real solution to this issue besides selling it and buying new? Thanks all.

well, how oold is your xbox? if its passed the 3 year warranty (all got the upgrade to it) then HACK IT.

itll be region free! plus, you can burn your games.

or, order from america. that could work too.

If I mod it, my Xbox live account will be compromised. Simply trying to get it to play both region's games. Ordering from the US is fine, but can add a month on due to customs.

Well Tha really sucks. I would sugesst ordering US games. and ifyou want uk games. Get a new xbox for the UK and a new Live account for that. Since hacking will compromise you LIVE membership.

There isn't a way to play non ntsc games on a ntsc console without "hacking" it, and compromising your xbox live gamertag.

Damn Nintendo for introducing region locking to video games.
