Metal Gear Acid is a turn based strategy game. Much in the same essence of titles such as "Final Fantasy Tactics", "Ogre Battle", "Fire Emblem", or "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance".

Movement and attacks are controlled by cards, but Metal Gear Acid is not a card game. The cards are much less of a focus than on a game similar to "Pokemon: The Trading Card Game". In fact, Metal Gear Acid shares no similarities with any "card game" style games, at all.

Metal Gear Acid is very addictive and requires players to complete not on regular mission objectives but also arbitrary hidden tasks. After each mission, which is laid out for you, you get ranked on an A, B, C, style system, with a lower letter meaning a lower performance. Your rank can net you new "cards" to add to your "deck".

You get special points for not being seen, not killing guards, and things that you would normally relate to the Metal Gear franchise. Metal Gear Acid upholds the spirit of it's predecessors, while bravely forging a new route that many people may not have seen coming from Konami. Incorporating turn based strategy adds a layer of play to Metal Gear that is refreshing and rewarding. There probably isn't a better way to put stealth, action, and strategy in to your pocket than Metal Gear Acid.

Unlock Karen card:

  • Enter KAREN as a password to get a card featuring Karen from Policenauts.

Unlock Mika card:

  • Enter MIKA as a password to get a card featuring Mika from Snatcher.

Unlock Viper card:

  • Enter VIPER as a password to get a card featuring Black Arts Viper from the Metal Gear Solid on the Game Boy Color.

Unlock XM8 card:

  • Enter XMEIGHT as a password to get a weapon card with 50 attack, 60% hit, 5.56mm bullets, 6 shots, 70% reaction, move 6 spaces, knockback, and burn.

Unlock Jehuty card:

  • Enter JEHUTY as a password to get a card featuring Jehuty from Zone Of The Enders. This card will destroy all equipment and equipment level-ups in the current room.

Unlock Bikini model clip:

  • Enter SABRAGE, NOMEL, ELYTS or MAEB as a password to see clips featuring Japanese bikini models. Note: These will cause Snake to get a nosebleed, but has no effect on Teliko.

Easter Eggs

Sometimes when a totally new game is started and cards such as Cyborg Ninja and Meryl's card are played, short 3d clips of characters from MGS1 are played. These events only appear in certain games and so far haven't been determined as of what makes them appear.
