USB Connection

USB Storage-Device

When you connect your PSP to a computer it will work as a standard USB storage device.

USB vendor ID: 0x54c USB product ID: 0x1c8

Vendor-String: Sony Model: PSP Rev: 1.00 Storage-Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

USB2GO/OTG Connection

It should be possible to connect the PSP to a digital camera and copy files between them using the USB2GO on the go (http://www.usb.org/developers/onthego) technology.

Connecting PSP to a PS2 is believed to work that way too.

USB2GO allows a device to switch between acting as a master or a slave device. (which is needed to get a camera and/or GPS receiver working, which was presented at E3)

USB ID / Device ID ???

USB-Boot

There are rumours, that it might be possible to Bootup the PSP (with external code?) via USB when powering on.

A PRX file with the name usbstorboot.prx was found, which may indicate that.

USB Devices

As announced at the E3 2004, there is a GPS modules, a camera and a keyboard available connected via the PSP USB-connector. Although, none of these devices are available yet on the market.

USB Cables

To connect your PSP to a computer an USB cable with a Standard-Male-Mini-USB-B-connector to a Standard-Male-USB-A-Connector is neccessary.
