Homebrew Channel Black Screen

Hey Everyone,

I looked around but didnt find much help for my case. I've been enjoying the homebrew channel for a long time now, unfortunately i recently got the latest WII system update, and it no longer works for me.

The channel is still physically there on my dashboard, but every time I try to start it up it just gives me a black screen.

I really appreciate any help!

Thanks

Did you update from the official method? If so, YOU MUSN'T UPDATE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP HOMEBREW ON YOU WII.

But I think you still can follow the bannerbomb guide to Downgrade back

Heh, yeah I def did an official update. I'll look into "bannerbomb" to downgrade. On another note, is there no way to keep a newer wii version (4.0 and up) and still have the homebrew channel available? It seems like certain games comin out these days require an update. :(

Also thank you punkelias for the response.

Thanks to all for any help they offer up,

You should PM Alex Finlay or Brentbizzle for additional help with this. I think they may know. I myself do not specialize in the Wii.

Yes, it is possible. Once you have done the bannerbomb thing, you can update to 4.1 (or 4.0) with Waninkoko's Firmware Updater, you can google his blog. It is in spanish but just read the post titles and you'll know what to download.

PS. When you have downloaded the firmware updater remember to rename the .dol file to boot.dol
