emulators and roms

once i have an emulator on the wii and a rom(mario) what joystick do i need to play the game...im assuming that
the wii controller wont work

depends on the emulator... most use the wii remote now... some older ones use a GC controller.

Can you point me the right direction on wich emulators can handle the Wii
