Help with downgrading

Hi
i've been running the homebrew channel for a bit, but wanted to play back-up gamecube games aswell. seen that the best way to do this is through softmii. but i can't downgrade, when i click on the downgrader and load it, it finds my inter ok. then when i press A to start to install it says press any button to restart. Has any one got any ideas. I currently on 3.4

anyways you may need to install some cios's to downgrade.
