Having problems saving games on snes9gx

I have loaded the snes9x with Donkey Kong, and it runs great... but when I try to save it tells me that 'sd:snes9gx/saves' was not found or not available (it is late, I am tired) and it is killing me. The folder is there, named 'saves' in the snes9gx folder. I tried moving the files around to no avail. Has anybody else had this problem? Can anybody tell me the exact configuration of their folder locations if they have it working? That would be awesome.

Just to be sure, you have the snes9gx folder on the root of the sd-card?

the folder should be named "snes9x" NOT "snes9gx"

Oh! I thought the snes9xGX folder had to be in the root, as opposed to in the apps folder with my other homebrew. I put the snes9x folder in the root, and it is working great, thank you so much for pointing out that obvious error on my part. My girlfriend will be happy to hear she can save her game in Donkey Kong, and I just started up The Secret of Evermore, one of my favorites. Thanks again.
