How to move a rom

How to move a rom without the data being lost.? When i was playing a rom with zsnes, i noticed when you copy and move the rom, the data isn't copied. How can i copy my rom and move it to another location and it still having the same data as it had in before? (I believe if the rom is renamed or moved the data is also lost).

there are two files that you need to move, not just the rom. You need the rom which will be in .smc , and you need the save file which will be .srt if I recall correctly.
