Since no one's talking, I decided to try and get things going...

So I've been playing SMG the last couple weeks... had to reflash my PIC to be able to play my "backup" 8) . In any case, I was wondering who has it, and what their impressions are of it.

I think it's pretty fun, but too much like Super Mario 64.

i read a review on it and they said:

Super Mario Galaxy is an embarrassment. It's an embarrassment for platform games. It's an embarrassment for adventure games. It's an embarrassment for Nintendo and an embarrassment for the Wii.

but then again i never played it but i saw the preview... and is the gameplay good?

I found that review... it's stupid. Yeah, SMG is a lot like 64. But by making the game even more 3d it's added a whole new challege. There's levels that mess with the gravity and such... it's similar to Mario 64 but different enough to be challenging and fun.

I enjoy it so far. I've got 80 something stars and a whole galaxy to go after. Trying to get them all as I go along (or as much as I can until I beat the game). I would say this is definitely one of the 1p games you should own for the Wii.

Yea, if it is anything like SM64 then it is a must! That game was one of the best. I haven't tried this game, but maybe in the near future.

One advantage it has over Mario 64 is that they seem to have fixed the camera issues. I played it and I really enjoyed it.

I own it, an original go figure.

Anyhow,

I don't know, the game just seems to be missing something. I never got into Super Mario 64 and I always preferred the 2D side scrollers. For me a 3D mario just isn't the same. I bought it because a friend recommended it and even he says that though he had fun in the beginning the levels became really repetitive in the middle. He still likes the game, Me, I think I will shelf it until I have a Wii party and play Okami instead.
