PS3 Not reading disc...

Was playing ps3 last night worked fine. I turned it on today loaded up a game as usual no problems. I go into the lobby to play online and the game stops I can however press the PS button on my controller and select quit game. I hit quit game and my ps3 freezes so I hold the I/O button till it beeps and reset I turn it back on and now it won't read any disc. Any suggestions?

Ouch. I guess call sony? Maybe they can fix it for a small fee or something. Which game was it?
Maybe go to system restore and restore your PS3.

Tried restoring still didn't work. I was playing nhl2k8 I tired loading gta4 and still no luck. I'm going to wait till the next fw update and see if that fixes it, if not its $150 to send to sony and fix. Found something funny while I was reading the warranty, look at letter D
I guess sony and god have some unresolved issues.

Lol. Yea the next FW update should have a patch to fix it maybe, and reflash the stuff.

Right now I'm taking it apart to clean the lens. I did just clean it the other day by blowing inside it. Maybe that messed with the lens?

I guess you'll have to wait for another update, they always have patches and stuff in them.

I've been reading around various sites, and got the idea to just lie to sony when I call them. My PS3 is still under the 1yr warranty
and I still have my receipt. Tell my warranty sticker has not been removed, and if they do question it when they receive it I'll tell
them it was their when I sent it to them.

Yea you should try that, probably your best bet. There was an update not too long ago, so it might be a while.

Called them today. They didn't ask about the warranty sticker. Now I got to wait for an email to

Yup. I got the UPS service order and the box was shipped on the 10th should be here by the 14th.

No sent it back to sony about 2 days ago. Still haven't received anything.
Just got a email from UPS, the package was paid for and shipped today back to me.
