To Jailbreak or Not to Jailbreak

I'm a little behind, but I've noticed that the PS3 is now able to be jailbroken. Is it worth it to do it right now? I'm thinking about picking up the PlayStation Move. If I jailbreak my PS3 will I be able to use the Move? Will I be able to play newer games since I won't be able to update my firmware? Should I just wait until it's more developed?

If you want homebrew, then you should.
Someone is porting over OtherOS to the newer firmware with homebrew. If you like having that, then it may be the best option.

Just to stress this point even further, if you want to jailbreak then you MUST be ready to completely give up on PSN as its not something you'll ever get reliable access to ever again :)

There are patches to get onto PSN with some games, but I wouldn't recommend it. Never know when Sony's going to start banning PS3's. There's an Xlink movement starting for some multiplayer games... it could grow.

Basically though, for now the jailbreak is only really useful for piracy. But you never know what will be produced in the future.

Even with CFW there won't be a definate way to stay online on PSN, peoples experience with PSP PSN access will be nothing compared to trying to play cat and mouse with the PS3, there will be no definate way of unrestricted PSN :)

I really don't care too much about PSN or playing online games. I usually have pretty crappy internet. I just don't want to jailbreak my PS3 and not be able to play newer games or the PlayStation Move. Is the CFW for the PS3 going to be like the CFW for PSP? I've modded my PSP so I know about all that stuff.

Decrypting and encrypting isn't the issue it could be as simple as CRC'ing certain files we would need to change to make a CFW and if the files don't match then no access is granted :)

Hopefully that will happen.
