It depends on where you live.
You do not pay any taxes in Canada or the US, but in some other countries
(like UK I believe) there are taxes.

Well I'm in the US of course.
Usually if you make over a certain amount like $400 then they make you pay income, but I don't
know how that works with paypal or if redeeming prize money from Lockerz counts as working.

Nah, I haven't been able to get on until today. There is suppose to be another shop redemption in a few days but I'm not sure what the prizes or ptz levels are so I might or not try to get in it.

I couldn't get in, they said if you earn around 100PTZ between July 1st and 30th(which I already did) but still wouldn't let me get in for some reason.
I just hope I can get my hands on that Dell Mini Inspiron 10.

And I have noticed on their Facebook page that sometimes people that were supposedly eligible for getting into a redemption were kept out, personally it hasn't happened to me.
But the redemption you are talking about is probably the early bird redemption where you have to buy something from shop in order to get in. That redemption was around July 15 I think?
There is a redemption for all users called the General Redemption, which is the one you are talking about, but it is pretty much hopeless to get anything worth any kind of value. But if you are going for the Lockerz Wallpapers then you are so in!
