Re: Th Last Air Bender

It's got a measly 8% on Rotten Tomatoes so I'm a little weary of it. Maybe they just don't like the transition from cartoon to movie so they are rating it so low.

Re: Th Last Air Bender

I watched some of the cartoon because the cartoon's style was really interesting. Only a few parts of a few episodes. I wonder if it will be good for me to see since I'm not a fan of it, either.

Re: Th Last Air Bender

Possibly spoilers but not really.

I watched all the cartoon seasons of it. Great story and some of the stuff they go through isn't very kid friendly like its a lot of adult lessons in it like learning to deal with your self and stuff like that. Now to cram a 20 hour first season into a 2 hour movie was hard. I think how M. Night did it was pretty good, he lost most of the story but kept in the major events. The only problems were the racial transitions not only from the cartoon but in the movie. Going from White, to Indian, Iranian, and so on. But also the actors, I know they wanted to be good but there was really no story or acting in it. Plus the pacing was horrible and if you were not a fan you would not know what the hell is happening.

I would love to see the other 2 books made especially if they fixed on those major flaws, but even still you just can't get that much story into a 2 hour movie. I think even if they made it 3 hours it could have made a world of a difference.

For what it was I agree it was good enough but could have been so much better. If they do continue the next two books even after bad reviews and not a very good profit. It will never be the next Lord of The Rings or Star Wars. That is what M. Night wanted it to be.

Me too! I dunno. Maybe I will wait for it to come out on DVD. I don't even want to waste bandwidth streaming it right now.

Then again I was never a fan of the cartoon so go figure.

Re: Th Last Air Bender

For a first overall attempt to cram 20hrs+ of info, into a 2hr movie, it was a good job.

I see every movie twice because i am a movie freak, but this wouldn't go for a third go around in my books. Now the other 2 or 3 may very well be a lot better.
