ACT: How Does Your State Compare?

Unfortunately, my state didn't take enough to compare, but looking at the other states...
But, looks like the North has it covered when it comes to college-readiness.

High school graduates =O =O....
wtf?
those two sample questions are easier then what I took last year... I can easily do them both... And I'm just about to start my 9-th grade ... Maybe going to a school with a British Curriculum helps...

Re: ACT: How Does Your State Compare?

The ACT isn't just about how hard questions are, it's also about using your time efficiently to get through the most of the questions as you can.

Re: ACT: How Does Your State Compare?

Yea, but who still takes the ACT? I know in NC atleast the ACT is pretty much I guess you could say "outdated", considering a majority take the SAT. But the truth is if you have an IQ higher then your age then the questions are easy it's just the time limit mostly and scoring system. Although I know a buddy who did pretty bad on the SAT (got like 1600?) but beasted on the ACT just because how easy the ACT is and he has to be the quickest reader I know.

You also need to take into consideration the speed of which the reader has. I'm a slow reader, but that doesn't make me stupid or anything. If I had enough time to actually read everything, I wouldn't miss any questions and the grade from my SAT reflects that. (I didn't take the ACT.)
That's what really killed me in my AP Spanish test.

Re: ACT: How Does Your State Compare?

Well yea, I still don't like the whole idea of this timed standardized testing and all that. I'm dyslexic so it really does take me a little longer to read but speed reading workshops and stuff like that truly help a lot. Besides, I got a high enough SAT score to get me into the college I wanted in and that's the last anyone even cares about the SAT/ACT.

I live in Canada, my "State" has no equal. Though it seems now-a-days I have to wade through all the retarded teenagers just to get sh*t done. (mainly at gas stations/fast food locations)
