Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

Have any of you guys tried out the FFXIV benchmark? I tried it a couple of month ago on high and it was extremely pitiful, but I got a new graphics card and I ran it average-ish on the low setting. I forget my exact score, I'll run it again and post it later.

Give it a shot and see how your computer runs it. This game is a huge resource hog!

EDIT:

Low:
Score: 1778 Load: 17738 ms

High:
Score: 865 Load: 18680 ms

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I attempted to run it a while back, then it was taking too long and I got tired of looking at it :p I am still trying to download the beta though yesterday all I was getting were errors about server congestion.

I haven't tried the beta yet, I doubt I'll get the game because of the monthly subscription :(.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I installed the benchmark and earned a rating of 1789 on high.

I am running:
e5300 at 2.6Ghz
Winblows 7 with 4 gigs of ram
Nvidia GTX 460 1024

I still think FF sux!

Looks good though but the game really is pointless IMO.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

Dang Que, you own that benchmark!

I'm running
i7 920 2.67GHz
W7 64 bit w/ 4GB RAM
ATI 4670 w/1GB

I can agree with you, Square really let me down with FF13, it was a huge mistake for me to buy. Awful, awful game.. If Versus 13 is as focused on very small environments and linear play then I highly doubt I'll play it, until the price drops way low.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I know version 14 is supposed to be some sort of MUD or WoW type game but to me it's still has that FF look and feel that has been around since version 8 or so.

As for owning the benchmark, Nvidia is always the way to go for video in my opinion. That isn't to say all their cards are good (Don't get a GTX 480 unless you need to heat your house) but if you buy one of their good cards (GTX 460) you will own, even with a sh*t Duo-Core processor like mine. ;-)

BTW I ran it again on high with the big eared girl and got an 1850!

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

Eh, I really liked FF 11 at the time it came out, and this one seems pretty similar except some different mechanics and graphics so I'll definitely check it out. It's certainly different from all the other FF's though, considering 11 was always the oddball and I guess 14 will be as well.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I downloaded and installed the benchmark but it keeps crashing upon opening it. Tried different compatibility modes and nothing has worked so far.

I had to upgrade my Direct X to version 11 and then it ran fine for me.

I am curious how it runs for you because I suspect you have a better rig than me.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I just upgraded my CPU from a e5300 to a Q9400.

My benchmark score went from 1800 to 2400 on high.

I'm not sure what the numbers mean aside from the fact that I can run this game no problems, I don't know how the numbers translate into FPs or anything like that.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I'd like to run it but it just won't run on mine on almost any settings I try. Someone tell me a miracle fix? Drivers are up-to-date on Win7 64-bit. I'd like to see where my quad benches at 3.7ghz of phenom II juice. Would be very interesting to see how that also compares to Q's beefier GPU, even though I still have a very nice ATI 4890 1gb GDDR5 card. Wish I could get this thing working. I'm at a loss so I'm going to restart and try again.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

Thats weird, it worked fine for me on my w7 64bit that hasn't been updated since it first came out, and my video drivers were like 8 months out of date to boot. All I did was run it as admin.

Although I did have problems running the open beta of the game, on the initial download when I was updating it, the updater would just crash after it downloaded like 30% but at least when I started it back up it started where it left off.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

More than likely it's your drivers. For me ATI has always had buggy drivers. I got burnned really bad some time ago with a new ATI card and could not play a hot game for 6 months until ATI got their collective sh*t together writing drivers. From that day on I swore I would never purchase or endorse another ATI card.

The problems persist even today. StarcraftII currently has no AA support with ATI but works fine with Nvidia.

The choice to me is obvious. Go with Nvidia.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

I'd say I prefer Nvidia even though I'm riding a powerhouse ATI card right now, but I don't think it's drivers. People with my graphics card have no problem running the benchmark from what I've seen. I'm more likely to believe it's my processor being unlocked from a dual core to a quad core, but it messes up in no other games or tests for that reason that I know of...

I don't know, I wanted to run the benchmark for personal interest, not for the sake of seeing if it would "run" or anything. It must not run because my computer knows me too well and knows I won't play that game anyways lol

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Benchmark Test

Dpm, what is the processor that you have again? I know I ask you like everytime you bring it up, but this time is serial.
