My Ipod Touch

Hey guys Haven't been here in a while, but I'm looking for someone who might know what their talking about when it comes to Ipod's.

Okay so here's my situation, I have an Ipod Touch 32GB 3rd Generation, and the glass panel is cracked on it, so I ordered a new one on ebay, and to my dismay I accidentally ordered a 2g version, And I've looked pretty much everywhere to see if they're interchangeable but I can't find anything with an exact answer.

Also even if their not interchangeable couldn't I just remove the Digitizer from the cracked panel and put it on the new panel?

Before any of us state "Of course it will work it's just a peice of plastic", What I ordered was a package that has the glass panel with the digitizer already assembled inside of it, and I'm wondering if it will work or if I have to remove the old one and place it in the new one.

Thanks.

Im actually pretty sure they are.

The cables are different but the end in the same plug so what does it matter.

and from I've read the later 2g models are the same as the 32gb version of the 3g model.

Oh, if it's just the glass, then it should work!

Removing the digitizer is a huge pain in the donkey, so it's better you didn't do it. Most people actually end up breaking it when pulling it from the glass. Last winter I had to take two broken iPhone 3G's and combine working parts from each to form 1 working iPhone, so had to study up on the hardware quite a bit.

Glad to hear it worked out though.
