Steam support sucks.

Steam support sucks man. My account had gotten hacked so I submitted a support ticket about 12 hours ago. And I know to some that may seem like only 12 hours. But I look up to find out that they have about 6-8 people working on support. Really? The worlds largest online digital distribution service has 6-8 tech support staff?!? That cannot be confirmed but that's the consensus I get from the forums. You have lots of MY money chilling in your pockets and I don't have access to the products you promise. Anyone else have any experience with having a hacked Steam account?

I don't have any experience with Steam but I do understand how many companies have a huge lack of support. I feel like anytime I have to call or chat with a tech support person for a large company/product I have to set aside part of my day just to dedicate to wait times.

Not to mention isn't steam starting to loose EA games or something?

I haven't looked it up. But I know EA started its own service called Origin. Idk the statistics.

I've lost 2 steam accounts to "Hackers".

I say that because they both have been banned for some reason.
It seems if you stop playing an account for a while they just ban it lol.

Same thing happened to me, Support said "Touch Luck" for the most part.

But TF2 is free now, so no big deal.

yeah my account wasn't banned. just all the login info and email was changed. And wow that's complete BS. I have over 200$ in games on my steam account. If that happened to me I'd be suing somebody.

Haha.

I only had about 15 dollars worth, on the first account, and the second account I had something gifted to me. (Team Fortress 2)

But it's free hooray lol

I have a great knack for getting free stuff through customer support agents, when I actually get hold of them, but I agree with the common consensus; most companies have terrible customer support.

The one company I was ODDLY AMAZED by recently, however... (any guesses?)... answer: Electronic Arts. I went here (support.ea.com/chat) and logged in my Battlefield name to get me registered as a Veteran rank 2 so I could unlock the M1 Garand in Battlefield Bad Company 2. The customer support agent, Tyrone, I believe, helped me via live chat and I had what I wanted within 5 minutes.

That might be one of the rare instances I can actually congratulate EA.

Yeah. It wouldn't be so bad if Valve also had a live chat option. Or at least some sort of way to determine the progress of your support ticket. Instead of giving you a progress bar or something letting you know where your ticket is in the system they make you sit there and just wait for a response. Which makes it seem like its taking forever.

Because they won't just immediately give you it back they need to actually look in to it and see if they notice new IP's logging in to it etc, also they will have a queue for new support cases and you can't expect them to answer you within 30 seconds it is a free support service, maybe if you were paying for the support separately :)

And now we know why digital distribution won't overtake physical media any time soon. :-/
