It's still an electronic tampon imo.

@ace - bahahahahahah.

that screen is going to have some crazy resolution. I wonder what effect that will have on casual gaming as well as websites (like us).

you guys think we should have an ipad version? hehe.

I'm gonna keep my iPad 2 I guess..with all that Craigslist scares happening down here Im reluctant to put it on there. Its pretty much new. No scratches. Always had a smart cover on it. Taken it outside literally 5 times probably.

Itd be nice to upgrade cheap though :/

Why would anyone want an Ipad? haha. After all these years, I'm still wondering, and have yet to get a legitimate answer ;)

Same reason people want other tablets? To consume content. Yes, an iPhone can do much of the same thing and the Macbook covers the rest. The iPad, and any other tablet, bridges the inbetween. Its a complementary device.

Whats nice is I charge my iPad every 4 days. Yes, 4 days. After heavy use the battery goes from 100% down to just 80%. Driving for 3 hours listening to music with the screen off, the battery honestly went from 100% down to 97%. I was convinced then. My Macbook would have been halfway dead, while my iPhone would have been down to 80%.

Now, with all this being said, I wouldnt buy another. As I said its a complementary device to my Macbook and iPhone. I won it from a contest or I wouldnt own one. If someone asked if they should get an iPad or spend the extra for a MBA, I'd say buy the Air.

I think BKF's assessment is spot on, especially for most of us. If you have a MBP/MBA and an iphone its a nice in between... altho completely unencessary. Altho some people dont need laptop just the ipad (those who only check email and browse a few sites).

Exactly. Like my grandma would love an iPad. She writes quick emails (and sooooo many forwards...) and browses the web. She doesn't create videos. She doesn't write documents. It's a perfect old person "computer"

Yea, unfortunately in my current situation I've yet to need anything other than my W7 phone :p I've pretty much gotten to where in a lot of my classes I need to use the lab computers to do homework (stuff that runs terribly slow in remote desktop, i.e. autocad), and I can use my phone for math/physics webwork. Gotta love being an engineering major, we even get our own comp labs throughout campus and free printing :D I could definitely see an ipad or any other tablet as being used by older adults though for like casual email, reading ebooks and the such, more as a way to not have to use a laptop, but big enough so that it isn't accompanied by the burdens of having a really small device (small screen real estate, etc.)

I still don't get why someone would want an iPad... and it's not just an iPad... I don't get why people want tablets in general. If I have my Sony Erricson Xperia Play and Sony Vaio laptop, I don't see what I'm missing.
And any features this apparently looks like it adds, I doubt I'll be changing my position on that any time soon.
I doubt they add anything besides Siri and better cameras and better screen and better battery...

Actually a slim portable scanner & printer combo would be legit. I don't see that happening anytime soon though :p

After todays announcement...I'm sticking with the 2. Yes, "Retina Display" would be nice. But thats all that really got upgraded. The upgrade in RAM and CPU/GPU will just go towards powering that screen.

iPad 4...I'm all yours.

No hate towards tablets, just personally I have my phone, my laptop and my Xbox lol.

And all of those have youtube now, which is where most of my time is spent watching (what you would think) are the most retarded videos ever lol.
