I think i might have something disabled but dont know how to re-enable it...anyways heres the message i get when trying to watch a video on youtube

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

And yes i've tried downloading the latest flash player a few times all with succesful completion.

If you're using FireFox (I assume),

Go to Tools>Options>Content and enable both JavaScript and Java. If there is an automatic update, update Java.

I think we know that pspruler. His problem though is that he gets an error message. I tried watching some videos on YouTube earlier, and I did not get any error messages. I know you want to point out the obvious, but I don't think that's the case (unless staxx's problem was refering to that obvious head notice on the homepage :\)

well I just thought it would be caused due to youtube's maintenance.

That message seems to make it clear that it is still possible to watch videos.

"- the basics of the youtube site are still available." ~ sounds like that isn't the cause to me, but then again, I suppose it "could" be... maybe

lolol pspruler nah it doesnt have to do with the maintenance, this was happening before any maintenance on the site. Has actually been like this for me for about 2 weeks now.

are there any settings i should check to make sure everything is in order?

Clear all cookies. Reinstall Firefox.

If all else fails, Delete your system32 folder, it will work no matter what ;)
