Converting video files AVI -> MP4

Hi all,

I've been having on-going issues with playing videos/movies/shows on my PSP. I'm currently running on FW 3.10 OE-A, and i've only got 1 movie to play. I've copied the movie into the video folder and it plays flawlessly. But now i want to convert .AVI files (tv shows) to .mp4 format. I tried using the SUPER program but it doesn't seem to work. After the file has been converted to .mp4, i tried copying the converted file into MP_ROOT/100MNV01 and VIDEO folder and it says corrupted data. The converted .mp4 file is almost the same size of the .avi file (approximately 350mb) and from my understanding the .mp4 file should only be 1/2 of that.

Are there any tutorials or experts that can help me with this conversion?

try this site: www.media-convert.com. and a tutorial.. um here
it might take a while for it to convert. But i'd recommend upgrading to a higher firmware, like 3.40 OE-A or 3.52 M33.

umm.. my avi files are bigger than 150mb. I'm going to wait until i get this issue resolved first before i upgrade to another FW. At that time when i upgraded to 3.10 OE-A, it was the latest one at that time and the videos still don't work, so i don't think it's a FW issue.

I think you can convert the videos with PSP Video 9 too. You just have to mess with the settings and stuff for the files to convert to mp4.

There's a program called FfMPEGx that will convert video to Mp4 among loads of other formats. It's great, it's free, and it works!
