PSP won't turn on

Well after dealing with my PSP being broken for the past couple of months, I decided to give in and seek some help. Let me sum it up for you. All I used to do is play GTA:LCS on my PSP (and maybe put the occasional song/video on there). And one day it just stopped working. Dosen't turn on at all, charging light does show when it's plugged in, but it never turns on even when charging. Not even the green light shows. Would this be a hardware problem, or just a dead battery?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. ^_^

Do you remember what you're firmware was?

Not exactly sure. Maybe 2.00 or like ONE update higher, it stopped working about a month or two before my summer vacation.

if you left it in a place that experienced extreen cold, or extreem heat, it could get ruined
