I updated from 2.60, to 2.71, to 1.5, to 3.03 OE-a to b without a single hitch.

Alright, im currently completely up to date, I THINK...
I followed the guide here to the letter, but noticed some people mentioning 2.71 firmware along side the 1.50 and 3.03. Should I also have this 2.71 or did i miss something along the way? Also, now that i have finished all of my updating, is it ok to say, format my card via the PSP, or do i need all the files on there, like HEN-D, etc? or is all of that flashed to my psp now?

Finally,
I dont really care about flashy backgrounds, or other hacks. I really just wanted the homebrew access. WIth that in mind, will the limited flash of the 3.03 OE ever really affect me? or is that really only problematic when i want to say, add custom icons and other such things to my psp?

So yeah, sorry to sound like a pain, but if someone could just tell me if I am currently where i should be, and tell me if i did in fact do something wrong with that 2.71 stuff, i would greatly appreciate it.

Anyway, great forum and great people, thanks for being such dedicated modders.

If you are at 3.03 OE-B in the system info you are fine. You can format your card if you like. You won't hurt anything. However, if you need to do a recovery you will need the recovery folder. Make sure you have a backup of this before you format. If you don't have it, PM me for the file. You are free to place your homebrew in the PSP/GAME folder and run from the memory stick. To make sure this enabled reboot your psp while holding the right shoulder button and make sure you are using the 1.5 kernel and not the 3.03 kernel. As a note I have noticed not all ISO's run with the No-UMD feature enabled.
