best thing to do now i think would be to upgrade to 3.03OE-B which allows u to do everything devhook lets you without going through devhook and have all that 3.03 firmware can do at the same time being able to do everything 1.5 can do

I also highly recommend upgrading to the 3.xx custom firmware versions. DON'T upgrade using Sony's updaters lol, that would make your psp very sad :(

3.03oe is the shiz-nit :D i love it. pacman knows whats up. so if you have a chance to up-grade to it... do it

Hi again, I just found the tut on installing 3.030e-a posted by jak_master. I got up to running the 3.030e-a firmware install program on my psp but it won't install, I get the message 'not existing or corrupted dxar file'. I created the dxar file and moved it from oeupdmaker to 3030e flasher directory but still get the same message. Help please......

Yeah, the file I downloaded says 3.030e-a and when I go to the memory stick I get 3.03 0e-a firmware install but still get the same message.

Not sure what else to do, or how to do it, I tried deleting and recreating the dxar file but still the same.

That is the best advice I've heard regarding this issue. I try to do everything by hand. I just don't trust auto-loaders so much.
I did this by hand and had it up and running within 10 minutes probably. Just make sure to read the directions very well. Upgrading from the oe versions to another oe version is done by the same process. Just redo your steps with the new version.

If you are having trouble, you should backup the information on your memory stick and reformat it. That should help keep things nice and clean.

Right... A big thanks to everyone, I now have a 3.03 oe-b. I think one of the files I downloded was corrupt so I started from the beginning and dowloaded from somewhere else. Now, how do I go about backing up my umd's, switching from oe-b to 1.5(i think thats what i;m supposed to do to play them)and any other useful info like websites for iso's. Again, thanks.

u do not need to switch back to firmware 1.50 but u hold the r button at restart and u will see the recoverymenu and there u go to config and switch the homwbrew folder from 3.03 to 1.50
