Is it worth buying a Psp 3000?

I just read the post about the psp 3000's screen resolution. Ive been wanting a psp for a while and i was waiting on the new psp 3000 to come out. Now i dont know which one to get. I like the lit screen off the 3000 but i hate the glare of the 2000. Is it worth buying the new psp 3000? or should i just go ahead and buy the slim 2000 psp?

A 'fat' or a 'phat' is a PSP-1000.
I hate the term. I just call it PSP-1000.
And actually, it's worth it to buy any PSP model. You should get a PSP-2000 if you're wanting homebrew right now, but if you can't find one, then that's okay. PSP-3000's are going to be hacked really soon.

2000 is worth the buy. 3000 you have to wait and the features on the 3000 just arent worth the wait

The question about which PSP to get is sort of a tough question. I have a first generation PSP-1000 that came with version 1.50 when I first bought it. If you asked me if I would want to trade it for a PSP-2000 or 3000 model... I'm not entirely sure what I'd do. I like the extra bulk of the "phat" PSP. I also like that it has an infrared port on the top so you can program it to be a universal remote (like turning on the TV/ garage opener etc.).

But if you don't like the extra bulk, don't want to use the infrared port, and aren't sure about the 3000's goofy screen, then I'd suggest to get the 2000 model. It's currently cracked so making it a custom firmware won't be too hard or costly and it's a good little unit. Keep in mind that the 2000 models (and higher) don't have an IR port, but they have more RAM to help speed up load times.
