First unmodable PSP 2000 for me

Well, I finally ran into a PSP I couldn't mod. It was a piano black model. I've modded about 5 of those before ($10 each). The worst part was that this mod was going to be a birthday gift. I told him to do a return but he was too depressed (he was so siked he bought a 8 GB. MSRP.) Is there any way to tell if it was a 882 motherboard on the box? I feel horrible.

You can use pspident to determine the motherboard model. If it shows up as unknown I believe it's an 88v3

Yeah, no point in doing now though. I got another friend wanting a mod. Piano Black. Let's see if it'll work this time.
