on a memory stick, or harddrive, the capacities are always rounded up. they never make right on 1 gig, or 40gb (computer hdd). Its always a little less, then rounded up to the next whole size.

Question: Anyone know what the most byte it is currently up to?

actually, a memory stick (for ex, 1 GB) is exactly 1000 MB, but they subtract a few MB because of the built in data that the memory stick needs. So in reality, its 1000 MB, but with built in data, which makes it 980

a terrabyte is a thousand billion bytes. Not kidding.

my mem stick gives 949
1kb= 1000bytes 1mb=1,000,000bytes 1gb=billion bytes 1tb= trillion bytes so 1gb=1000mb or 1024 and 1000gb=1tb
Hard drives can only go up to 500gb, any higher and the magnetic particles that hold the data would hold their magnetic charge. See u can only can cut a piece of a magnet so small until the tiny piece of it is so small it doesnt have a charge anymore. Current hard drives use parallel recording which limit to 500gb.
