Dgen Help

I'm using 3.03 OE and i have the DGen emu on my psp, but for some reason when I try to play games my psp just shuts off. The loading screen pops up, but freezes and goes black. I've changed the files from .7z to .zip to .bin to .smc. Any ideas?

Did you try upgrading to like a somewhat newer firmware? Like maybe 3.90M33 with the 1.50 addon?

#1 Do you know what all of those formats are?

.ZIP : Compressed file. Must be decompressed to use.
.7z : A stronger compression type than .ZIP. Also must be decompressed.
.SMC : The file type that SNES roms are known to be in.
.BIN : An uncompressed file that can be pretty much anything.
.SMS : A Sega Master System rom extension.

Most Genesis roms are zipped. Usually, the file in the zip is a .BIN file.

#2 DGen can not run files of the .SMC extension. You need an SNES emulator for those.

#3 DGen can not run filed of the .SMS extension.

I'll try upgrading. So roxfox, are you telling me I shouldn't use Dgen? or what kind a files do I need to have.
