Yah, from what you said you've done everything correctly and like DPM said its probably your memory stick. I still dont understand what exactly a "fake memory stick" actually is. I get that its not a real memory stick and that they malfunction but i dont get where they come from and what differs them.

They're cheaper MS that are put inside phony housing like a Sony casing. They can look pretty legitimate (fooled me for sure), but after looking up what to watch for it's easy to spot them. They usually have one or more of the following problems: less than shown capacity, slower transfer rates, unsupported magicgate, etc. Mine transfered fine and the speeds were fine, but it didn't support magicgate even though the case said it did and didn't support most homebrew files.
