Yes you can update at any time.

There is a great gba emulator, gpsp 9. (for phat psp)
gpsp kai 3.2 test 8 (or something like that, for slim.)

homebrew games:
"BOXHEAD" - http://pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... 097983aa6e
Theres DOOM
Super Mario War

And others.

2GB memory sticks are enough, you can get one for $30 or so.
Some games you might play may be 800MB, but there are usually ripped versions of the game that are less than 400MB.
And if all else fails, but the games that are too big to fit on your ms.

So there are different apps for the hacked phat/slims??? How does that work.

Thanks for the info!

Well there are 3 types of homebrew
1.0
1.50
3.XX

The phat can run all if it is on cfw
The slim can run 1.0 and 3.XX on cfw. Well with the help of an app called the time machine, the slim can run 1.50 as well.
And you can also use E-Loaders to run 1.50 homebrew on the slim. Everything is moving over to 3.XX now, and there is usually a 3.XX version for most homebrew and emulators.

Ahh ok. That makes sense.

So really, getting a Slim will still be fine for homebrew then.. especially emulators? I can get a mint Phat for $115 but I really want the features of the slim.

Excellent. Thank you.

Now, does anyone have list of "MUST HAVE" homebrew apps?

EDIT: Does the Phat or Slim have a longer battery life?

They say the Slim has longer battery life, but i cant tell between my slim and phat. My iso's go from 150mb to 1.5g depending on the game. Final Fantasy Crisis core is over 1.5g but lemmings is 140mb. Its all depeing on the game. Also you can Compress iso's into CSO's that play on the psp (both slim and phat cfw) just as well with a reduced size.
Phat 3.71->pandora 1.50->3.90 m33 (Sold on Ebay, suckers)
Slim 3.71->semi-brick->Nand Recovery->DCv3->3.71->3.80 m33-2->3.90 m33-3->4.01 m33-2
Want cintro for 4.01 m33? get cintro_390and Autostart_V4.zip, just follow the readme.

I can tell a difference between the PSP's battery life because of how much I play my PSP.
Slim has a little bit longer life.
