Capacities
Blu-ray supports more data capacity per layer compared to HD DVDs. That is 25GB per layer versus 15GB of HD DVD. Technically it can fit three different capacities; 25GB is merely the average, these capacities are 23.3GB, 25GB or 27GB. This equates to over 4 hours of high definition video with audio.
There is also the option of dual-layers: 46.6GB, 50GB or 54GB, which is roughly 8 hours. Currently BDA are researching 100GB and 200GB technology with 4 or 8 layers, this keeps the technology ‘future proof’. Also in the works is an 8cm disc variation with a 15GB capacity, rather than the regular 12cm discs

ps3 has a blue ray player standard (but upconverts dvds) vs the 360 playing dvds and a seperate hd player is needed to watch hd dvd movies. Dont think any HD Dvd games made it out before they got molested out of the running.

Well of course, I mean I was just referring to the fact that what sense would it make to have to buy a HD DVD addon just so you can play video games on your new xbox 360. The war wasn't between the 360 using games with HD DVD's and PS3's built in blu-ray but more about multimedia & who bribed Toshiba the most.

I find it funny that they went from 50GB 2.5" HD's to a simple plastic 50GB disc. I mean really, look at the first "large" hard drive and compare it to a 1TB hard drive now a days. Amazing huh?

yup and a 1TB external is just over $100 and for a decent one too. Just imagine the possibilties. To bad that microprocessors are almost to their end. In like 20 years they will be so small that electrons cant move to transmit data (Moore's Law where the processing power doubles every 18 months). I think MIT or someplace is trying to figure out a new way, otherwise our tech will stop growing until we do, sucks dont it?

Wasn't moores law like disproven with Intels atom processor or something like that. I remember reading a article about disproving moores law. But yea, processors can only get so small. Seems like our technology is moving to fast for our own good.

yeah the games are superior on xbox, only because of its larger library. ps3 is a much better system imo, no RROD, and its much faster. Higher quality. if only they had the games 360 has, it would rock its socks.
once FFXIII comes out the playing field will be equal once again.
ps: i have both, but only use ps3 for movies on my projector atm. games are for the box.
