questions from a pc hacker

I am a noobie to the psp arena. I have a slim with 3.80 on it. I have read about the cfw 3.80 m33. What does this mean to us? Do I still have to have a pandora? Or do I just download programs/apps and homebrew and that's it? Will running the cfw require me to do anything special? Is there a good tutorial that leads noobs through it all?

Thanks

Thanks AdventWolf.
My questions are still there. The tut was good for brew and iso's but the other things still puzzle me.

If I "upgrade" to this new cfw 3.80 m33 what do I need to do next to play homebrew and my downloads of other games?

When you are on CFW, you automatically can play ISO games and PS1 games, the homebrew folders simply go into the 'GAME' folder and you can play them from there. However. you will need to get the SLIM- compatible homebrew apps. Most are 1.50 compatible, which the slim isn't, however more homebrew is coming out for the slim. And you can load most 1.50 homebrew with e-loaders.

But I still have to have the cfw to play the homebrew right? Or can I just load up a homebrew and go to town?
What is an e-loader?

You need cfw to play homebrew since ofw can't play homebrew. The e-loader is just a homebrew app that enables you to load 1.50 firmware homebrew.

Thanks for your patience AW.
When I get this update of 3.80 m33 will I need to do anything else like a pandora? Does the previously mentioned update install to the system or to my memory card?
I just didn't know if I needed to have another memory stick in my system when this happens.

Well in order for you to get on CFW, you will have to use the 'Pandora Method' :(. So you will have to follow one of these tutorials to make a Pandora's Battery and the Special memory stick to switch your PSP to 3.71 M33 CFW. Making the Pandora's Battery requires a phat battery, and an older model one, since the new ones are 'fixed' so you can't use them for pandora anymore.

However, in order to do those tutorials, you need a psp with 1.50 FW or CFW in order to make the battery and stick, since the installers are HOMEBREW apps. And OFW can't run homebrew. So if you happen to know anyone on 1.50 or custom firmware or something.

You can make the Battery and Stick yourself without a cfw psp, by following this tutorial

Supposedly the new 3.80 m33 is going to update via wifi. Will this not be of benefit to me or do I still have to have to go the pandora way?

Hm as far as I'm concerned you will have to use pandora. I'm not sure about the WiFi thing.

Well you can try this tutorial, but it involves opening your battery and messing with the insides. You can though, find someone to send an old phat battery and magic stick to, to pandorize them for you. Or you could buy the pandora's battery and stick on eBay. Here is a list of people that can do it. http://www.darkmessiah.byethost13.com/freeservice.html

AdventWolf,

Do you "make" the pandoras if someone, like me, sends them to you?
