So I've got a psp...

And I'd like to play ps1 iso's on it, but am not quite sure how to go about doing that. Do I need to homebrew? Or do I need to do something else? I'm at a loss as to how to get started on this and any help would be appreciated. got 3.93 on it. Also know nothing at all about how to homebrew so if I need to do that, it'd be nice if I could get a link to a tut or something.

Thanks.

Ok, First of all, what you need first is to have Custom Firmware installed on your PSP. This is done by making/buying/using a Pandora Battery and Magic memory stick to flash CFW to your PSP. You will want to have access to another psp with Homebrew enabled, and if possible an extra battery and 128mb-1gb memory stick.

http://www.pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9208 thats a tutorial to make a pandora battery combo, DONT USE IT ON A SLIM!!!

http://www.pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10137 this is a link to "Despertar Cementerio" which does the same thing on fat or slim PSP.

The 2nd one is slightly more up to date.

http://www.pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11076 Is a tutorial for what to do without access to a 2nd psp with Homebrew enabled

After you have that done, (dont worry, its way worth it), someone will explain how to use PS1 games.

Ok, I got my CFW installed and now I'm ready to start puttin games on it (3.71 m33). How do I go about doing this? I've already got some ps1 isos ready to go, but am not sure which emulator to get that would work or how to put them on. And my friend wants a cfw too, so can I just use my battery and ms the same way as i did with mine?

I would Recommend updating to 3.90m33-3, its easy. And also, yes you can use the one you modded yours with on your friends psp.

Alright, all upgraded and everything, now I'm having troubles making eboots. I can make the isos from my ps1 discs fine, but it says i need a gamecode for the disk and I can't find them anywhere.

You could always download the PS1 eboots, and what exactly is asking you for the game code?

been a while but i think you use a program called autopopstation or popsloader...something along those lines to convert your psx iso's to eboot and keys files. Message Ace012 he should be able to get into full details for you. his pm link is in my signature.

You can use a program called "icetea" to convert an ISO, BIN, IMG, or some other file into a EBOOT file.

Does that create the keys file as well tho? Cause you need a keys file with the right code to be able to save/play your game.

I'm not sure, I think it does, if not I think every DOCUMENT.DAT file can be used for any game. Its just a substitute for the keys file, But I think the program does make it.
