psp slim not reading umd?

Just got a new slim a couple of weeks ago and for some reason none of my umds are reading anymore. Its running ofw.
Is it a software issue or is it hardware issue?
Also will converting to cfw fix the problem?

Fudge! So there is no way of fixing it besides cracking it open and fixing it yourself or sending it back to manufacturer? (still brand new and no cfw on it)

I guess your UMD laser thing that reads the UMDs is broken, at least you can still run ISOs.

If you're planning on downgrading your firmware, you'd better wait until you get it fixed (if that is indeed what you're planning) because Sony will upgrade you to the latest OFW in house before they send it back to you if they catch you with CFW from what I've heard.
