upgrading a slim 3.90 official firmware to 3.90 m33 custom

Ill try to make my post as clear as possible to avoid any confusion.

I have a PSP SLIM (2001) with the official 3.90 Sony firmware on it. I would like to install CFW 3.90 m33 on it.

Things I have at my disposal to make this happen:

Phat psp running 1.5 (not sure how to make it run home brew)
A 2gig Sony memory stick
An original Phat battery that came with the Phat psp
SLIM psp battery
2 AC power cords
Very strong knowledge of computers

Iv been reading around on the internet and this site... theres just so many ways to do it... Im hoping someone can give me a small step by step with some links to guides.

I believe thats the tutorial you're looking for, as I'm almost 100% sure you'll want to use the Pandora Battery tool. How that works is you use a psp running either 1.5 or a custom firmware (in this case its 1.5 for you) to make a battery that is capable of booting the PSP into a "service" mode of sorts that can downgrade it to any firmware. In any case, I haven't personally done this with a slim PSP, so you'll have to follow the rest of the tutorial on your own. I'd try and help more, but I'm at work so I really shouldn't spend too much time writing a post. If you have issues, ask, and I'll do my best to help.

Since you have a phat at 1.50 you should(and probably need to) enable 1.00 Kernel homebrew.

I don't know where the app is by itself. But, you can find it in the package of 3.52M33.

I now have 3.71-2 m33 on my slim, thanks for your help.

but now i need to install 3.90 m33... which should be a pretty simple process right?

also, how does the network icon work now? can i update the psp to the latest m33 firmware by using that? or wouldthat attempt to update my psp to official firmware from sony?

it seems that im unable to change my battery back to its normal state using the pandora battery maker.

Any thoughts? its not a big deal really since iv got other batteries that i can use

i know for a fact you can change the battery back (ive done it twice), I thought you just had to click square or something like that when inside the pandora battery maker application. I do however remember I had a hard time getting to that point last time because it kept booting off the battery.

ill just keep this battery as a pandora battery i guess. its an old battery any way and wasnt holding a very good charge.

no you can only do the update from the networking menu with 3.80 m33 or higher if im right.
so ask around if you dont know cause if you update using ofw, youll brick.

Once a slim psp is bricked it cant be unbricked like the Fat can right?

All bricks can be unbricked. As long as the idstorage isn't corrupted...

yea but doesnt the idstorage get corruped automaticly if you have a .prx on your system?

(thats just the way i saw it because of the CXMB so im guessing that its around the same idea.)

No. You could still recover a PSP with destroyed idstorage.
You just need to make a nand dump frist.

after you rip a game from the umd drive to your pc whats next? what steps need to be taken so that you can play the iso off your memory stick in your psp?

Also, what exactly do the terms "gameboot" and "cintro" mean?
