does ur psp have to be 3.51 before u can download cfw?

so i just did the battery trick my ofw is 1.5 there is an update on my psp for 3.51 i didnt know if i should do it. i put the update for cfw 4.01 but it wont work so anybody got a solution or tell me where am goin wrong

Find a version of Despertar del Cementerio that will upgrade you past 3.51. You will need official firmwares for the firmwares in between 1.50 and whatever you are upgrading to.

you cant update directly to 4.01 m33 from 1.50. You need to be on 3.52 M33-3 or higher.

So go ahead and download the files needed to update to 3.52 M33 then proceed to installing 4.01 m33.
