Firmware 2.81 mod using GTA with update 2.6????

I've got a 2.81 firmware psp and an unpatched version of GTA (going by this guide)
But when the disk has the 2.6 update which I beleave is no good.

Is my GTA no good for getting my PSP to run homebrew?

Is there another way?

Thanks. :)

I got it second hand, after reading your post I had a closer look. Looks like the disk does not match the case. The case code is ULES 00151 and has the 18 logo on it, the link I posted stated this was the unpatched version. But the disk has the code ULES 00151#2 on it so it looks like i'm out of luck. I did not realise the patched version still has a firmware update option on it. The doc I read made it sound like only the unpached game had the firmware update. :(

I may pop back to the shop with the psp and see if I can swap the disk for an unpatched version, they have a few second hand versions of GTA so I may be lucky.

I take it this is the only way to mod a 2.81 psp?

Thanks. :)

Thanks asddasit, I better engage blagging mode and pop back to the shop. ;)

:EDIT: That was cool, the shop let me try all thier GTA disk to find one with the 2.0 update and just swapped my patched one over. :)

so now I would suggest upgrading to firmware 3.03 and then downgrading to version 1.50.... THEN, you can upgrade to a custom firmware version 3.03 oe-c and it will be able to run homebrew and play any umd ;)

Did that just after posting that I got the right copy. :)

Any one looking for an old GTA should got to game station, the one I got mine from were very helpful. Let me try all their copies. The disk has the ULES-00151 on it aswell as the case so you'll not need to run up all the disks, just check the ones with the right number.
