SNES on the PSP...... Please Help!!!

First I would like to start off saying that I am a newbie when it comes to PSP, and in fact I have not even received mine in the mail yet. I was wondering though if there is a way to play SNES games on the psp without any firmware upgrades or if I do have to what is the risk level of doing this? Sorry if these have been answered before but like I said I am new to this. Thanks for any help since I don't know where to start!!!!!!

It depends where you got it from, you need a base firmware of 1.50, with this firmware you can run unsigned code.

we'll have to wait for it in the mail to be sure.

Thanks Supashay91 for your quick reply. I bought it from Amazon.com and it is a brand new system. Saying it does have a firmware of 1.50 can you just load a emulator and go or does it need to be flashed still?

No, if you want you can go straight into running emulators and applications on it.

but applying some safety to is isn't a bad idea either.
