Yep, all you need to do is upgrade to the official 3.50 firmware, then use lumines and the lumines exploit to downgrade to 1.50 and then you can upgrade to a custom firmware (Such as 3.52M33-4) then you can put the downloaded games on the memory stick and play them.

Also lists another method (pandora's battery) which may be harder for you to accomplish in your situation, but either will work.
