Hey? What's new? What's old? Who died, and who is still alive? Been gone, vacation time, now back to the normal grind.
Anywho? I read on the home page
click here that the M33 team came out with a new spanking CFW? So who has upgraded to 4.01 CFW? Any reviews? Negative or positive? What is the deal and etc?? Does this new CFW still work with the 1.50 kernal that was available during the 3.90 CFW update?

Not the same? Can you explain a bit further? Thanks.

Okay, I bit the bullet and upgraded my "Phat" PSP CFW: 3.90 M33-3 w/Kernel 150 add-on 3.90 v2 to 4.01 MM33-2 w/Kernel 150 add-on 4.01.
I tested almost every game and application on my PSP and it seems to be working fine. Will report back if I stumble on some minor or major bugs--really hope not!

If you want to put CFW on a friends psp its a little less convienient cause of the upgrade until they make one for 4.01 specificly you have to use the 1.50 kernal to pandorize and then you do the least amout of upgrades as possible.
which is like 3.52-4 then what ever you wanted after that.
thats really the only issue i had with it.
other than that is all fine and dandy.

- Either a PSP-100* console (AKA Fat PSP) running either 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4 or higher (Previous versions of M33 won't work, due to a bug that affects them and OE)
- or a PSP-200* (AKA Slim PSP) running 3.60-M33 or higher.
And the kernal will allow you to play homebrew games including emulators for old-school games (i.e. NES, SNES, GENESIS, and etc.)

Thanks, i shall go find the 3.52m33 download. im currently just waiting to get a usb cable, i picked up a copy of lumines with the correct box code today and the correct code also printed on the disc, only problem is it doesnt have the 2.00 update on the disc when i put it in the umd slot!! (i dont have a previous lumines save) but im running on official firmware 3.30 so once i upgrade to 3.50 to do the downgrade it should hopefully work! any ideas on that?
also if i go to a higher custom firmware than 3.52m33 is there one that i can upload straight up that i wont have to upload the -3 or -4 updates? just to make it a bit easier!

You can also find the official firmwares at
www.psp-hacks.com -- check their download section. They usually have every build.

I guess if that's what you gotta do? You see, I never had to go through all that, because I was one of the lucky ones to start around the 2.00 days. So it was just downgrade to 1.50 and it's been heaven ever since then.

If you study the other CFW, they all usually provide instructions it they will tell you whether what version you should have to upgrade to each version to then jump to the latest CFW.
Good luck! BTW, you didn't say whether you had a "phat" PSP or a "slim"?

I wish I could help, but I have no clue on what you are trying to do. Are you trying to use a game to be able to downgrade?

love it. i have 3 psp`s with it. one plain 2000, one starwars, and one fat. ive also done it to a friends with no problem. it owns!!! does all every other firmware does, and the kernel works fine. only bug is if you have a homebrew app up, and you sleep it, it freezes if you give it a big command and reboots.
