psp quick question..

so i decided i'm going to go out and rebuy a psp, thinking a used psp 3000. my question is, is every firmware downgradable/can i run custom firmware on any, or are there firmwares that i should look out for when doing this? the main thing i want to do with this psp is run homebrew/emus and stuff like that. so is there anything i should look for when buying or am i basically safe with any now?

Idk about PSP300 but i am pretty sure I read newer PSPs have a different motherboard that doesnt allow the pandora trick anymore.

Well I think there are certain unhackable motherboards or something. And some of the special game customized psp's aren't hackable I think.
There is a topic here somewhere that tells you what to look for but it might be a little dated.

What is the difference between hackable and unhackable motherboards?? And what is the benefit of hackable motherboard as you are giving very much importance to buy the hackable one.

with a hackable motherboard, you can run "custom firmware" which will allow you to run emulators, homebrew, among other great applications on it. most people look for those when buying them, because you can do a bit more on it than you can with a regular one.

That's not....your missing it. You have 550Gen-D? Go get rockband and hit the home button and quit the game. Do it.
