You don't "install" WAD Manager... you put wads you want installed in the "wad" folder in the root of your SD card. Then run the manager to install/uninstall wads.

I would recommend a little google action. As I have said before, I'm not using the loader, so I know nothing about it. All I would do is google around for answers, so I suggest you do the same.

I'm not sure what all it uses. I have been using DVD+R with 100% luck. Hope that helps.

Make sure you patched the ISO and burn it at a low spped. 4x or lower. Use Verbatim DVD-R and you should be fine.

Problem with mad manager showing at all

My folks gave me a wii for christmas but with 3.4E loaded on the darn thing. I got the twilight hack to work today so i now have HBC loaded on it. Granted that I was able to install the media player add-on I'm not able to install DVDx due to the update of my wii. So i googled around researched a bit only to learn that I need to downgrade it. Okay - but to do so I have to run some wad files through Wad Manager. This is where the problem is.

My Wad files are set up like is:
Wii Hack (name of sd card)\Wads

seems that, that should be the proper way of doing that.

I also have a folder as is:
Wii Hack\Apps\Wad Manager

inside wad manager I have wad manager v1.3.elf

Every time the HBC is loaded I can't see the Wad Manager at all. What do i need to do - how can this be remedied? If you can walk me through by making a step1, step2, etc help guide - I'd certainly appreciate it.

Also - If you can help me with that, my follow up question is will the wii then be able to play DVD-R disks? Such as burned games, etc? Lord knows that with little ones in the house they tend to scratch up the dvd's pretty well and having backed up burned games always helps.

Thanks for the help folks.

ArmageddonAngel> you need to do 2 things. First off, if you have the latest version of the homebrew channel, you need to download a new version of wad manager that is in dol form since the new homebrew channel doesn't support elf files. Then, when you do get the dol file, you need to make sure it is named boot.dol. The homebrew channel only reads files named 'boot'.

-Rubicante-> You need to google around for what wad stands for. I dunno and don't care frankly. You can think of them like this though. All the Wii channels you download from the wii store... those are wads. If you can run homebrew on your wii and you have a 3.2/3.3 system version wii, you can install wads downloaded from the internet on your wii.

got wad manager and wad manager 3.1 to work fine now. the problem was the fact that i was on 3.4u and then finally got it to downgrade to 2.2u thanks to the help of inAcrysis. I also placed his instructions on instructable.com so others can learn to downgrade the better and easier way.
