Wii linux- is it coming?

Now, I know we're all excited for the wii backup app (which I just installed and is working pretty well, only downside is that I need better DVD-Rs) but lately I've been really curious on the status of the fable linux OS for the wii (mostly known as WiiLi). Anybody got any updates on it?

A build of linux has already been released for the Wii. Came out a long time ago. Pointless as of yet though.

Yeah, I found it recently, I really want to try out. However, on the WiiLi website, I found something real interesting. Someone else actually created a wii backup channel, i wonder why nodoby here has talked of it.

Are you talking about the one that copies the disc to SD card? If so then it requires flashing a custom IOS on your Wii to run it. I personally do not want to mess with my Wii's IOS.
