no i didnt i voted for Windows. I love window and like mac. I played with linux it was ok. just not my thing. I like Windows then OSX. Linux doesntdo it for me. i like to run programs without the hastle. Windows will always rule supream. Linux will be good to ppl who like it as long as it stays free.

And i think Microsoft did a D**M good job with 7. it has been VERRY stable for me and boots verry fast

my XP used to take 1.67 (i used a stop watch) seconds at the beginning... but then it got slow..

Now, guys and girls, think fairly... (I'm taking out the names in the following) (and "U" is general):

What do u think will be better :

a) an OS, that gets so much damn money to be worked on..
b) an OS, that is free and the makers have to work the hell out to do all of the working without piles of cash
?

the answer will obviously be "a"...

If Linux had started charging, like $25 for only a year (thats not even close to mega$cams price), i can guarantee that it would kick mega$cams a@@...

U don't give em money, but u expect them to do everything perfect for u???? thats just plain retarted.. U know Mega$cams workers' jobs' are making windows and other softwares.. thats what they get payed for.. BUT do u think the Linux workers' get profit from u guys getting it all for free, hell no.. They proly have to do other jobs (unless there f**king rich)..

So think again!! U just aren't giving Linux the credit they deserve..

and see thats the thing...

You complain they dont charge to make their products better. They say they dont want to charge. The end. You dont keep complaining if the developers dont want to charge.

Besides, you know as well as I do that youd find a free workaround if they did.

Im running Ubuntu right now. I have windows 7 and Debian also installed. Windows 7 for me had a boat load of problems. But I keep it for games. Not saying windows is bad but my personal experience sucked. Ubuntu has not failed me yet and debian does a good job. I think its all a matter of preference and what you want to do. Not who is better. They all have strong points. Mac to me is just overpriced proprietary Linux. But I do like the look and feel of a mac. I would have one but I cant justify shelling out almost a grand and a half for a good mac when I built my PC on newegg for under 400$. I think debating about it is kinda pointless. I mean think about it no matter what anyone says here is anyone really gonna change their mind?

I'll conclude this...

U cant ask this:

Is a hippo fatter, A giraffe taller or a Dinasaur's tooth huger?

See thats an inappropriate question...

Ubuntu, Mac, Windows are all different OSs created for different purposes..

Different people, different jobs..

Conclusion :
All OSs are great if u use them what they were made for!

Windows was made for everything but now 7 has came out the driver support is better then Linux, Windows 7 even beats XP in loading speed, Both with nothing on,
Yes there are a few idiotic error on win7 but once fixed you won't need to touch the same with Linux, The ONLY good thing with linux now is how much space it takes up, yes its a good OS it depends on the user, i used it for a month, ive had win7 6t4bit for about a month, which do i like better? WIN 7.
you may call it winblows or micro$cam or W/E, Linux is good for netbooks Windows is good for anything with 20GB+
im sorry but im not a windows fanboy i person don't mind mac, but honestly Linux could be better with windows if they edited alot of things, Issues with certain files im not going into detail, but unless the many 1000s of companys make there products compatibile with Linux its never going to be greatly used.
And as Linux isnt a reconised OS companys are not going to make there product Linux compatable.

But that's not the point. There's people that would pay for it which in turn would help create a better operating system. Pirated or not, people will buy. I've never bought an operating system but Microsoft and Apple seem to be avoiding bankruptcy.

But if they charged just a small amount, it'd be "commercialized", which for Linux, in my opinion, would be a good thing. If you SELL linux then it allows for large companies to say... "hey, people are buying this cheap operating system, let's pay them money to collaborate" etc. and it makes things better.

I don't believe I have ever heard of this. The company would never sell their licensed open source product.
Can I see confirmation?

PS, again, its open source for a reason. All of a sudden Linux decides to start selling, but their old version is still open source. You need to think of things that can happen after selling a product that was released with the source code still out there.

Its open source so people can add great innovations and improvements.
Want an example? The browser that you're using right now (which SHOULD be Firefox  ) is open source.

EDIT: Ah, I know what you're talking about now asddasit.

Anyways this article should clear things up:
