The Zune is a solid device. The biggest problem is the Zune software. I normally never have an issue, but it's been known to categorize some of my music in the COMPLETELY WRONG places. I've had music by Disturbed say it was from the album "Hillbilly Tunes Volume 2" or something. It's touchy, but a really nice program nonetheless.
The Zune itself is not really all too bulky. It's about the weight of a 2.5" laptop hard drive. The screen is the same resolution as the iPhone. It also has a radio on it. It's about a centimeter and a half deep and about 2 and a 1/4 inches wide. I got one for $99 on Black Friday one time a few years ago and it's still working just dandy. It's a solid 30gb player for a solid price, if you ask me, but fanboys will always tell you otherwise.
Of course, the 30gb Zune is out-paced by how amazing my 32gb iPod Touch is (and by how many things it can do), but the Zune is not a "do all" device. It plays music, plays video, plays radio, and displays pictures. There's also games now but I haven't gotten into those much yet.
