The Chasm
i stand at the egde of a chasm looking down i cannot see the bottom
i drop a rock down the chasm it takes a full 3 minutes to hit the bottom
i know it will only take me a fraction of the time
suddenly from behind me i hear tires i turn and look
there is everyone ive ever met piling out of cars my mom my dad
my little brother are all at the front everyone is telling me not to
with tears in my eyes i tell them i must the chasm's call is too powerful for me to resist
they reach out to me try to grab me and pull me back but they cannot
they cannot touch that which is already lost to the chasms call
i start to move away from them still crying telling them "im sorry but i have to do this you are all better off without me" as i walk to the edge
suddenly im stopped i look up and there is my pawpaw telling me "son this isnt the right way to go turn back dont heed the chasm's call" i tell him "i cant turn back pawpaw it too late for me im gone"
he grabs me in a hug and says "its never to late" i look him in the eyes and say "for me it is im sorry pawpaw" i break his hug and with tears still in my eyes i run full force into the chasm as i fall i hear voices screaming 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and crying but all i can think is im finally free
Untitled
Slowly it surrounds me
Hands pull me in
I cannot see
I cannot feel
OhGods what have i done?!
I have succombed to the darkness
I no longer exist
The darkness has taken me
Back into its loving embrace
