There is a way to transfer files in combination with a WiFi MAX and apache server, but that would just cost more then a simple usb cable Either that or get a memory card reader for your computer that you can stick your psp's memory card in.

Ahahahaha.
Yes, you do need a USB Cable. Or you can buy an adapter for your memory stick that will plug into a USB port. USB Cables are around $5, just make sure you buy the right one.
